Crazy Week

Last week was just crazy! Gracie had been coughing for a little over a week, so on Tues, I called to make her an appointment. While I was on the phone with the nurse I also mentioned that she had not gone to the bathroom in 3 days(sorry TMI). They told me a couple things to try and that we could talk more at her appt. On Wed. we went to her appt. She had a sinus infection-that is why she had been coughing. The Dr. then told me to try Miralax to help her go to the bathroom, only give her juice, lots of fruits, vegetables (we had already been doing most of this). Well Wed. night she woke up screaming and continued for 4 hours, her stomach was definitely bothering her. We finally called the dr. at 1:30 in the morning. He told us a bunch more things to try and if she continued to cry he would meet us at the hospital. Well she never went to the bathroom but finally fell asleep around 2:30, just to wake up again at 4:30. During this time I had to type my sub plans, knowing I wouldn't be going to work. She finally went back to sleep from around 7-8:30. so, I basically only got 1.5 hours of sleep that night. The next day she continued to be in pain and I was on the phone with the dr. about 4 times. They were wanting us to try everything we could here because if we went to the hospital she would be put out for a sleep enema and he said it wasn't very pleasant. Finally, after giving her 2 suppositories and having Miralax all day she finally went to the bathroom-it had been 7 days.
This weekend she is finally back to herself and I'm praying that this will not be a continuous problem. It was a rough week...and to top it off now Tim is very sick..he probably needs to see a dr., but is refusing right now.

Yesterday, we met my Uncle Jeff for lunch. Then Gracie was invited to her friend Ellie's birthday party. She has a really good time. Today we are going to the north side of Indy. Our friends, Jen and Hans, that we met in Aruba decided to get married while on vacation in Miami. So, today they are having a reception.

We have been going to mommy and me gymnastics. Gracie LOVES it. She goes right in and sits down. She can do a front somersault, hang on the uneven bars, walk on the balance beam, and jump on the trampoline. She has learned so much in only 3 weeks. We are going to continue in the class. We are also still attending Story Time at the library and she loves to go and listen to stories and play.

More new words....mess, jump, animals, gorilla, pretty, pretzel, apple juice, purple, kids, and GRACIE!! She is finally saying her name! She also has really started getting into Elmo-I'm thinking this might be our 2nd birthday party theme.

It's time to get serious..

I'm going to get in shape and stick with it this time. Tim is going to do it with me. I have had too many excuses for too long! So, today for breakfast I had a special k drink, for lunch a salad and water, and for dinner a banana and a lean cuisine pizza. I also ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes and got a workout in a the mommy and me class. So...this is what I have to continue. I'm also going to try a Zumba class on Thurs night. Everyone has great things to say about it and apparently you burn 1000 calories in an hour. So, I'm very excited...if I like it I will be doing it on thurs and sat every week. If anyone has tried Zumba already let me know!

Tonight we had the mommy and me class...it was some work! Gracie loved it-much more than the dance class. She ran around screaming "yay". She even busted her lip and still cried when we left because she didn't want to leave. We worked on using little hula hoops, walking on balance beams(she did amazingly well with this), hanging on an uneven bar and kicking up and walking your hands across it, going through tunnels, jumping on a trampoline, doing sommersaults, and climbing a rock wall. This is where the problem came in.. Gracie has no problem climbing and she climbed the wall (I was soo nervous) and at the top is a big twirly slide and she followed the other kids down...well she did a sommersault down and landed on her head and she busted her lip a little bit. She is not scared of anything....and she was the youngest in the class. She really had a great time! Mom was wore out!

I remembered a few more things...

Gracie got a fish tank from Tim (daddy) for Christmas and she loves it. She ask first thing in the morning to go and see her fish. She also likes to help feed them. It is a 20 gallon tank and we got 3 kai fish that all look different. Hopefully it won't be too hard to keep clean!

Also a few more words I thought of....juice, minnie, mickey, please, thank you, pretty, mouse, and open.

Only 2 more days of break, I'm not wanting to go back!

Very behind..

in keeping up with my blog. Before christmas there was just so much going on at home and school that I lost track of keeping my blog up....so there has been lots that I have not posted. We all came down with the flu in early December and that wiped us out for a week. Me and Tim did enjoy his company work party and went to a Colts game in early december.

Gracie will be 20 months in 2 days...I can't believe it. Her vocabulary has exploded recently...a couple of her new words are Elmo, Pooh, cookie, ice cream, christmas tree, ho-ho, lights, Ella (her friend Ellie), sit, grandma..I know there are more but I can't think of all of them. She is starting to put short phrases together. She is really into pointing at things in pictures and naming them, she says 2, 6, and 8 when counting, and tries to see the ABC's but you can't understand it. She has taken an interest in drawing, painting, etc. She is also using a fork and spoon most of the time now and loves to drink out of straw like mom and dad. She is also getting a bit stubborn and says no alot and is getting frustrated when mom and dad don't understand her. However, I can't complain because she is very good most of the time. Her hair is getting long and I can now put it in pig tails. She is getting really tall (not sure how this is). She is also really getting into pretend play. She likes to dress up, play with dolls, and cook in her kitchen.

We stopped taking the dance class because I couldn't watch her and she would cry for me. We went to an open gym today at a gymnastics center and she LOVED it. So we are starting a mommy and me class on Monday. I met another mother(who is also a teacher) at gymboree last summer and her daughter Ellie is just a little older than Gracie. Ellie and Gracie really got along and so I have kept in touch with her mom. We met today at the center and they are also going to join us in class. We think they will have a great time.

Christmas was fast but great! We were headed to Loogootee the Tues before Christmas, but got stuck in Bloomington with all the ice. Thanks goodness Uncle Jeff lives there. My poor mom was trapped between 2 hills for 2 hours. It was bad! So, we headed to Loogootee on Wed. morning. We had christmas with my mom and then went to my grandma's. Gracie got lots of clothes, dolls, a stroller, a train, and more baby stuff. We headed home on Christmas Eve. Tim stayed up putting Gracie's kitchen together from "Santa". Gracie loved it! She didn't even care to open any other presents, all she cared about was the kitchen. It took us over 2 hours to get through the gifts-guess I should enjoy it now! She has played with the kitchen everyday! We also had Christmas at Tim's sister's house. Gracie got lots more clothes and more baby stuff. She had fun playing with Quincy.

We didn't get to do anything on New Year's Eve because Gracie developed pink eye. Poor girl-her eye was all crusty and red. Sad to say that me and Tim were in bed before midnight-we are old. Hopefully next New Year's will be better.

My christmas break is coming to an end and I'm very sad. We have had so much fun and I know it will be difficult for Gracie to go back. She has enjoyed having mom and dad around. Tim took off the full 2 weeks with me, so we have been together everyday. I guess I just need to be thankful for this time.

Well I will stop writing for now and will try to update more often!

Dance Class-Round 2

Well we attempted dance class again on thurs night. As you read before, I'm unable to go in. Gracie was fine until all the other kids started crying when it was time to go in the room, then she was pulling on me and screaming. I almost didn't leave her but then as soon as the music stopped all the kids stopped crying. They said she got down and did a lot that night. The funny thing is....we have been singing "The Wheels on the bus" at home and she has been turning in circles and stuff...it is soo cute...so I asked the teacher and sure enough that is what they do. So...I get to view next week and that will give me a chance to see if I feel she is read y for it. She is soo cute in her little dance outfits!

A couple more words to add to the list....Whoa, towel, Mia(a little girl at daycare-she calls her "ia"), and the phrase "I do"...today she also said "dada go bye bye"...the talking just keeps on coming.

On another note...Im trying to figure out how to do a slideshow on here....hopefully can get it figured out soon!

18 month stats

Gracie had her dr. appt. yesterday. She is 24 lbs(40-50%) and 33 inches long(70%). She didn't get any shots, we are still waiting a little while to get the MMR-she is caught up on everything else. She is done getting teeth for awhile-yeah! When the dr. was looking in her ears, eye, etc. she kept telling him "all-done", it was soo funny. Developmentally she is doing great! She still gets a little splotchy rash sometimes and he says it is excema. We just use aquaphor a couple times of day and give her anhistimine if needed. Overall, it was a great dr. appt.-nothing much to report!

4 more words to add to the list she knows- bug, boo, look, weeeee (she does this when she is swinging or excited about something.

Words at 18 months

Gracie has started trying to say a lot of new words and I've been trying to write them all down.  She has about 40-50 words...this is what she is saying....

dada, mama, dog, cat, duck, up, out, uck, "huh". all done, up above (for twinkle, twinkle little star), bus, ball, bubble, this, that, hi, hello, bye-bye, yes, not, yeah, Dora, backpack, truck, shoes, cheese, eyes, moo, quack, foot, toes, okay, hot, baby, night-night, book, bird, off, see, fish, yum-yum, open and she says Webus, Webus for wheels on the bus....it is soo cute to hear her try to sing it!

I'm sure I'm missing some, but it is just amazing what all she has started to say.  Can you tell we are proud?!?
